How to Commission

Searching for that one of a kind piece of furniture

Are you fed up with the sameness of high street furniture? Have you been longing for a stylish vintage look or a bespoke statement piece for your home but don't know where to look?

Maybe you don't want to part with your own furniture but feel it needs a facelift. Or do you want to bring that sentimental desk or sideboard out of the shadow of your spare room and put it centre stage again creating new memories?

Upainted can help.

By working closely with clients discovering the colours, details and style they prefer I then transform their tired or out of fashion furniture into unique statement pieces.

I also have a collection of vintage pieces in stock patiently awaiting their makeover which you can choose from. Or if you’re after a particular style I can source it for you.

FAQs

Where are you based?

I am based just outside Limavady in the North West of Ireland.

What if I can't transport the furniture myself?

I may be able to pick it up myself if it fits in my car! Or a courier can be arranged for an additional fee. Give me a call and we can work something out.

For my full shipping details check out my Terms and Conditions listed below.

What kind of furniture can be painted?

All furniture can be painted but what it's made off will decide the way it's prepped before painting. If the surface is clean and sound there's a primer for it with a few exceptions so its best to contact me with pictures

What if my furniture is damaged?

Most vintage furniture will have signs of wear and tear. For example damaged veneer, knocks and bangs, sticking drawers etc. All these issues can be fixed.

How do I book a commission?

Easy. Call me on 07976310482 or email me jennifer@upainted.co.uk

You can also message me through Facebook or Instagram.

Let me know what you want painted. If possible send pictures and dimensions as this will help me give a better estimate of costs.

Lastly let me know what style you have in mind. If it's a plain paint or a more detailed design with stencilling or geometrics etc.

All estimates are good for 30 days from issue.

If you decide to proceed a non refundable deposit of 50% of the estimate is payable up front to secure a date in the commission diary.

Can I see examples of your work?

Certainly. I have an extensive gallery of past work on my website but if you want to see my work in person pop over to Stone Row Artisans, 1st Floor, 2-6 Stone Row, Coleraine, BT52 1EP, where I have a retail unit. It's open Monday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm

How long does it take?

Once you have paid a deposit a date will be confirmed in my commission diary. The length of time to finish a project depends on the size of the furniture and the type of design you pick. Usually, it's 2-3 weeks to complete a project.

How do I pay?

I accept payments via credit card or bank transfer. Alternatively you can call me and arrange a cash transaction.
