All furniture Upainted sells is used and as a result will show signs of wear and tear with bumps, cracks, dings, and other age-related marks. Larger holes and damage will have repaired but otherwise these marks are part of the vintage experience.

All furniture sold by Upainted is hand painted by Jennifer to a high-quality artisan finish, but this is not a factory finish so some brush strokes or minor imperfections may be visible.

Furniture is advertised on social media and other sales platforms so they may be removed from the website sale page without warning.

Please measure the space where the furniture is going to sit and pay close attention to the dimensions listed on the sales advert. Upainted cannot be responsible for furniture that doesn’t fit when you get it home. Believe me it has happened!


There are no refunds on items bought, that have been seen by the buyer and picked up from the Upainted workshop.

Bespoke commission orders are non-refundable.

If you’ve bought the furniture online and haven’t seen the item in person before buying, you have 14 days from the date of the sale to contact us for a refund and 28 days from the date of sale to return it to us in the same condition that it left Upainted’s premises.

The buyer is responsible for all return courier charges. It must be wrapped and protected to the same standard as it was shipped to you to prevent damage in transit. A reputable, insured courier must be used.

Payment terms

All items listed by Upainted for sale must be paid for in full. Deposits or part payments on pieces is not available. Commission pieces require a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total estimated price payable before a date is booked in the commission diary with the remainder payable before the completed piece is collected. This date can be booked up to 4 months ahead allowing time between the first and last instalment.

Delivery and Shipping

There is limited space in the workshop so furniture cannot be stored indefinitely even if it’s been paid for. Items must be collected within 7 days of purchase unless by prior agreement.

You’re welcome to collect furniture you buy in person, if practical, from the Upainted workshop outside Limavady. Please contact me to arrange a date and time.

If the item of furniture fits in her car Jennifer can deliver free of charge if you’re within 20miles of the workshop. Further than 20miles will incur a charge of 45p per mile, again if it fits in Jennifer’s car! If you want Upainted to deliver contact us BEFORE you buy to check suitability.

If you require a courier to collect, please contact us BEFORE you buy with your postcode so we can get an accurate delivery quote for you. Please note it can take a couple of weeks for delivery via courier.

Typically, local courier rates start at £80 for Northern Ireland and parts of the Republic of Ireland rising to £130 for Britain but it’s totally dependent on how far away you are and how large the item is. Couriers generally are a one-man band so where the furniture is heavy or bulky a second person will be needed to help lift upon delivery. Remember delivery is kerbside only. The courier will not carry furniture upstairs.

I can arrange a courier for you, but the fee is payable by you. Usually a deposit is paid up front with the remainder of the fee payable upon delivery.

NOTE: If you are arranging your own courier to collect, please ensure they are insured and experienced in transporting and packing furniture. I can’t accept responsibility for any damages or losses that happen in transit. Please don’t use parcel couriers only reputable furniture shippers.

I wrap and pack all my furniture for shipping, but as a standard the courier should use a removals blanket and strap the furniture into the van securely.

If arranging your own courier, please note that you are accepting these terms and are completely responsible for your item the moment it is handed to the courier. Any compensation for breakages or loss should be claimed from the courier only.

Ensure the furniture is unwrapped while the courier is present to check for any damage and report it to the courier immediately.

Faulty or damaged goods

I check all my furniture before it leaves the workshop to ensure its in good working and decorative order. I’m unable to accept any responsibility for it once it has left the workshop. However, if it arrives damaged you should contact the courier firm first under their insurance cover and then me. I’ll do what I can to help solve the problem.
