‘Tiger-Tiger burning bright’…….(William Blake 1794)
NOTE: Not available for sale until the end of July
Meet Tiger-Tiger, my fierce tigress.
This tall boy has been converted into a drinks cabinet that would certainly be a talking point in any home.
The outside of the cabinet has been decoupaged in the fabulous Chrysalis Border fabric from the Tiger Fly collection by Sarah Watts for Ruby Star Society. I chose it becasues of the moths, trees, cranes, hares and tigers embellished with gold thread along the bottom and the moons and crescent moons above. All protected with 3 coats of polyurethane top coat.
Taking the tiger as my theme the front of the cabinet doors and drawers have a raised stencil of a tiger face and tropical leaves across them using Cromas Pure Metal in Brass. This is a resin product containing metal particles and when polished to a high shine both looks and feels like metal.
The deep green of the fabric has been colour matched across the top and new legs have been fitted.
Inside the cabinet has been painted in Coal Black paint with tiger stripe stencil embellishments across the shelves in gold and gold line detail on the doors. Also the back has been finished in imitation gold leaf to give that bit of luxury.
Finally motion sensor LED lights make sure the gold accents shine.
Tiger-Tiger is truly a one-off, statement drinks cabinet that would look good in any home.
As with any vintage/antique item there may be small imperfections but this just adds to the character and uniqueness of the piece.
I hand paint all my furniture to a high quality artisan finish not a factory finish so some imperfections may be seen.
NOTE: All furniture can be collected in person at my workshop outside Limavady. I can arrange shipping for you but this would be at an additional cost. Please contact me before you buy with your delivery address so I can get an accurate quote for you.
